CARE GUIDE
Caring for your pieces
Natural materials reward a little attention. These general guidelines help keep leather and fur looking their best. When in doubt, consult a professional.
Leather
- Store with care. Keep bags in their dust bag, lightly stuffed with tissue to hold their shape, away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Let it breathe. Avoid plastic bags or airtight containers, which trap moisture.
- Clean gently. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Test any cleaner or conditioner on a hidden area first.
- Condition occasionally. A suitable leather conditioner helps prevent drying and cracking.
- If it gets wet, blot with a soft cloth and let it air-dry naturally, away from radiators or hair dryers.
- Hair-on-hide pieces should be brushed lightly in the direction of the hair and kept away from moisture.
Fur
- Hang it properly. Use a broad-shouldered hanger and leave space around the garment in the closet.
- Use a breathable cover. Choose a cloth garment bag. Never store fur in plastic covers.
- Mind the humidity. Keep fur in a cool, dark, dry place. Avoid heat, direct sunlight and damp spaces.
- Brush lightly. Shake gently after wearing and brush softly if needed. Avoid perfume and hairspray directly on the fur.
- If it gets wet, shake it out and hang it to dry at room temperature, away from direct heat. Never use a hair dryer.
- Clean professionally. Have fur cleaned by a fur specialist. Many also offer climate-controlled seasonal storage.
